Shiatsu is a unique technique that emerged before the advent of Chinese acupuncture, the name of which is deciphered as follows: “shi” – fingers, “atsu” – pressure. The founder of shiatsu was a doctor from Japan Tokujiro Namikoshi, who became interested in techniques that were inherited in martial arts schools. He tried to incorporate these practices into massage – and the results were truly impressive. Already in 1957, Shiatsu therapy was officially recognized by the country’s medical community.
Shiatsu masters believe that our body is an integral energy system in which everything necessary for regeneration and self-healing is present. However, due to the painful rhythm of modern civilization, due to poor ecology, poor nutrition and stress, the body’s defenses often weaken and the internal energy balance is destabilized. Shiatsu massage not only helps to restore the normal functioning of organ systems, but also normalizes the person’s internal energy.
Our body is shrouded in an energy grid, the intersection of the filaments of which are marked by special points – Tsubo. When you click on them, a characteristic feeling of numbness and warmth appears. Shiatsu masters are inclined to believe that tsubo are a kind of channels through which excess qi energy stored by internal organs is “dumped” into the environment.
